Northern Cape Department of Health is urging potential students to promptly submit their applications for Henrietta Stockdale Nursing College Diploma in Nursing intake 2024 academic year.

Admission Requirements: To be eligible for the Diploma in Nursing program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Matric/National Senior Certificate endorsed by Umalusi, qualifying for a diploma/bachelor’s admission.
  2. Life Sciences level 4 or Biology HG – D/SG – C.
  3. English level 4 or HG – D/SG C.
  4. Mathematics or Maths Literacy and Physical Science level 3 and above (an advantage).
  5. APS/Matriculation score of 24 and above for the six highest subjects (excluding Life Orientation).
  6. Only Northern Cape applicants will be considered.
  7. Applicants currently registered elsewhere will not be accepted.
  8. Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews and exams.

Prospective candidates must apply online through the e-services portal at https://www.eservices.gov.za/tonkana/category/health.xhtml

Follow these steps:

  1. Click on Health and register.
  2. After registration, log in to apply.

Compulsory Admission Requirements: Documents that must be submitted with the application form through the system include:

  1. A certified copy (less than three months old) of your Identity Document/Card.
  2. A certified copy (less than three months old) of your National Senior Certificate.
  3. A certified copy (less than three months old) of your Marriage/divorce/widowed Certificate (if applicable).

In cases where the name on the National Senior Certificate differs from the name on the national identity document and the application form, evidence needs to be included to verify the difference. The same applies when the ID number differs.

If you are a qualified nurse, submit an Annual Practising Certificate.

  1. Proof of Residence from the local municipality or Tribal Authority.

Ensure that the certified copies are clear and in PDF format. Only submit the requested documents; unnecessary documents should not be attached. Incomplete applications and documents will not be processed.

Bursary Obligation: Successful applicants will have the opportunity to apply for a bursary from the Northern Cape Department of Health. If awarded a bursary, students will be required to sign a contract with the Department to work back the same number of years spent on training.

The Department reserves the right not to fill all the posts, and correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If no contact is made within six weeks from the closing date, the application should be considered unsuccessful.
